Solution 1: Check the Date and Time on Mac

First of all, navigate the mouse pointer onto the Apple logo and click on it. Then, from the Apple logo Menu window, click on “System Preferences”. After that, click on the Date & Time icon. Alternatively, click on the View menu and select the “Date & Time” option.

In case, if the padlock beneath the window is closed, then you need to click on it at first. After that, enter the administrator name and password for further steps. That is, you need to select the “Date & Time” option.

Further, turn on the option: Set date & time automatically. If this option gets you the incorrect result, then follow the further instruction.

Select the Time Zone tab. After that, uncheck: Set time zone automatically by using the current location. Further, manually set the Date and Time. Next, save the changes. After setting the date and time correctly, now retry to use the App Store for a purpose and check if the issue gets resolved or not.

Solution 2: Ensure that the Internet Connection is Active on Mac

First of all, click on the Apple logo on your Mac. After that, from the Menu window, select “System Preferences”. Now, under the System Preferences window, click on the Network option. 

Next, ensure that a green dot is present next to the network you are connected with which indicates that the network connection is active. If no green dot is present, then you need to worry about the internet connection to solve the matter.

Solution 3: Sign-Out and Sign-In Back into your Account

According to a few users, by applying the sign-out and sign-in back process, this issue can easily get resolved. The steps to perform this method are as follows:

First of all, click on the Apple logo that is present at the extreme top left of the Home screen. Next, under the Menu, select the “Apple Store” option to open. Further, go to the Store menu and select “Sign Out” option.

Now, to sign-in back into your account, launch the “App Store” application. After that, from the top menu panel, select the Account tap. Further, from the list, click on “Sign In” option. 

Now, enter the Apple ID and Password in the fields accordingly. Next, click on the “Sign In” button to complete the job.

Solution 4: Modify Proxies Protocol in Network Settings

Modifying the proxies protocol in Network Settings is another effective method to solve the App Store not connecting issue. To try this method, follow the steps cited below:

At first, click on the Apple logo from the Toolbar. After that, select the “System Preferences” option. Next, click on Network under the System Preferences window.

Now, click on the “Advanced” button under the window, then select the Proxies tab.

Further, under the “Select a protocol to configure” window enable the checkbox for Auto Proxy Discovery and uncheck the checkbox for SOCKS Proxy. Next, click on the OK button to save the changes. Most probably this time, you will get the problem resolved.

Solution 5: Make Changes to the Blue Marked Certificates

After trying all the above methods, if still, the error persists, then proceed with this solution. Most of the time, this solution gets the users a positive effect in solving the error. So, try it out.

For performing this task, first ensure that the App Store is not open and if, then close the App Store at first. Then proceed with the further steps to solve the issue.

Step 1: Click on “System Roots” and “Certificates” Under Keychain Access

To begin with, at first, open the Keychain Access that is present under Applications/Utilities/. Next, from the left-hand side of the window, click on the “System Roots.” After that, select “Certificates”.

Now, from the right-hand side of the window, go to every certificate that is marked with blue dots on it and follows the instructions below to cancel the blue dots. 

After canceling the blue dots for the certificates, you can get the issue resolved.

Step 2: Open Certificate Services>> Set “Security Sockers Layer (SSL)” as “no value specified”

  • At first, double-click on the blue dotted certificate(s) to open the Certificate Services window.
  • Next, click on the arrow that is present beside Trust to expand. 
  • After that, expand the options for “Security Sockers Layer (SSL)” and set it as “no value specified”. 
  • This will set the “When using this certificate” option as “Use Custom Settings”.

Step 3: Enter Password and Click on “Update Settings” to Confirm the Changes

Next, click on the red dot (present at the top left-hand side of the window) to close the Certificate Services window. This will pop-up the confirmation window. 

Type the Password in the field and click on the “Update Settings” button to ensure the changes that take effect.

Step 4: Expand Trust and Set “When using this certificate” as “Use System Defaults”

Further, double-click on the same certificate and click on the Trust arrow to expand. After that, expand the options for “When using this certificate”, and select “Use System Defaults” for it. Then, close the window by clicking on the red dot that is present at the top left-hand portion of this window.

Step 5: Re-Enter Password and Click on “Update Settings”

Now, as the confirmation window gets open, type correct Password in the field. Then, click on the “Update Settings” button to save the changes. Hopefully, the whole process will cancel the blue dot on the certificate.

Follow the steps for all the Certificates that contain a blue dot to cancel. Now, try to use the App Store to ensure that the issue gets resolved.
