Method 3- Turn Off the Windows Defender

Use the Local Group Policy Editor

You can use the local group policy editor to turn off the Windows Defender, For that, in the beginning, you should open the Run dialog box. For that, you should hold down the Windows + R keys together. Once the Run box opens, then you should type gpedit.msc in the given field and press the Enter button. After that, the Local Group Policy Editor will appear on the screen.

Within it, you should navigate to the Computer Configuration. From there, you have to click on the Administrative Templates. Then, a new page will pop up on the screen. From there, you should scroll down below until you see the Windows Components.

Once, you found it, then click on that. Then, go to the Windows Defender. Now, you should search for the Turn off Windows Defender option. Once you found it, then you need to double click on it. After that, choose the Enable option from the Disable option. Then, you have to click on the Apply button.

Now, the Windows Defender will be disabled automatically.

Use the Registry

With the help of the Windows Registry, you can turn off the Windows Defender. To do so, at first, you should press the Windows + R keys together to open the Run box. Once the Run box is opened, then you should type ‘regedit’ in the Run dialog box and hit the Enter button.

Now, navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender section. Her,e if you find a registry entry named Disable Anti Spyware, then you need to double-click on it and change the value data from 0 to 1.

In case, you do not see an option named DisableAntiSpyware, then you have to right-click on the main Registry Editor pane. After that, tap on the  DWORD (32 bit) Value. Then, you have to double click on it and set the value to 1.
