Orbi routers that are manufactured by Netgear is one of the best mesh routers for the large places. These routers are mostly used in places that have multiple obstacles for a normal range of the router. How to Setup the Orbi Router? 

Settings up the Orbi router is quite simple. To set up the device, you need a system or the Orbi application that is connected with the wireless network of your home. First, you need to understand the different LED indicators and their meaning.

Power LED: 

  • Solid Green: The router is On. 
  • Blinking Amber: Satellite of the router reset to its default factory settings. 
  • Solid Amber: It indicates that the Satellite or router is restarting. 
  • Blinking Red: It denotes that the firmware of the device is corrupted.   

Router Ring LED: 

  • Solid White: The device is booting. 
  • No Light: The device is started to operate normally and it has finished the booting process. 
  • Blinking Amber: The device is not able to connect with the internet. 
  • Blinking White: The router is reset to its factory settings. 
  • Blinking Magenta/Blue: The internet has exceeded its limit. 

Now, you can perform the steps as follows: 

  1. First and foremost, attach the Ethernet wire (RJ-45) from the modem or an existing router to the Orbi router. 
  2. Afterward, turn the Orbi router On. 
  3. Now, press the On button of the device and check if the LED indicator starts to blink. 
  4. Check whether the internet LED indicator has become solid. 

Connect to the Orbi Wi-Fi Network

There are several ways to connect with the Orbi wireless network. You can have a look at the methods described below: 

Method 1: Using Netgear Orbi Application

First of all, open the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and download the Netgear Orbi app. This application has the ability to manage the device easily. Furthermore, you also can manage other settings like Parental Control, Pause the Internet, Run Speed Test, Satellites, etc. 

Method 2: Using the Web Browser

It is the other way you can perform to connect to the Orbi Wi-Fi network. To perform this, first, open the orbilogin.net site of your computer. Or if you prefer, you can also type the IP address 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Press the Enter key from the keyboard to open the default login page of the router. Here, you will get the options to provide the password and username of the device. Usually, the login credentials are:

  • Password: ‘password’
  • Username: ‘admin’ 

In case you see that the 2nd method doesn’t work, then you have to clear the cache of the browser and then try it once again. 

How to Change the Orbi Wi-Fi System Admin Login Details? 

To change the Orbi Wi-Fi system admin login details, you can have a look at the steps mentioned below: 

Step 1: 

First and foremost, turn the computer On and open a web browser. Then, type “https://orbilogin.com” in the address bar and hit the Enter button. 

Step 2: 

Now, type the password and username of the router and tap on the ‘Login’ button. 

  • Default Password: ‘password’
  • Default Username: ‘admin’

Step 3: 

Thereafter, navigate to the Advanced tab and then go to the Administration section. Click on the ‘Set Password’ option. Now, enter the default password and username of the device. 

Step 4: 

Now, it’s better to change the default login credential of the device. You can then keep the below tips in your minds while changing the login credentials of the device. 

  • The passcode must be a combination of alphabets and numeric characters. Or if you prefer, you can also use special characters. 
  • The password must be 8-16 characters long. Try to make it complex, but easy to memorize. 

Step 5: 

Lastly, fill the details in the specific field and tap the Apply button. 

How to Login to the Orbi Router and How to Setup Satellites? 

The satellite is an additional device that you can add to your Orbi router to extend the range of the router. To set up the satellite, you can perform these following steps : 

  • In the beginning, open a web browser on the computer that is connected to the Orbi router. 
  • Afterward, type “orbilogin.com” in the address bar and press Enter to open the default login gateway of the router. 
  • Now, provide the default login credentials. The default password is ‘password’ and the default username is ‘username.’ 
  • Once the admin login page opens up, choose the ‘Add Orbi Satellite’ option. Now, it will navigate you to the ‘Place your Satellite’ window. 
  • Thereafter, connect the satellite with the power supply and then press the On/Off button. 
  • Wait for a few seconds until the ring turns off the satellite turns to solid white color. Next, press the Sync button of the satellite so that the white color starts to blink. 
  • Now, tap on the Sync button on the web interface so that the router sync with the satellite. 
  • Now, you will see that the ring LED indicator of the satellite is blinking with three colors: Magenta, Amber, and Blue. After a few seconds, you will see that the LED turns off. 

How to Reset Orbi Router?

To reset the Orbi router, first, take a sharp-pointed object like a paper clip or pin. Resetting the device will erase all the previous data of the device such as SSID, password, username. Now, you can also have a glance at the steps given below: 

  1. First of all, turn the device On. 
  2. Afterward, take a pin or paper clip and press the Reset button on the router with that. Hold the Reset button until you will see that the Power LED indicator started to blink with Amber color. Or if you are resettings a satellite, then the ring LED indicator started to blink with amber color. 
  3. Now, the device is set to its default factory settings.
