  • At first, tap on the ‘Start’ menu, then in the search type Command Prompt. From the output of the search choose ‘Command Prompt’ option.
  • After that, within the ‘Command Prompt’ window type the following command – ipconfig and tap ‘Enter’ key to execute it.
  • This command will provide you with different addresses among which you will have to choose the address of ‘Default Gateway’.
  • This address is the router’s IP address and it is pretty much same as ‘192.168.1.1’. For some router, it can be a little different.
  • Now, type the default gateway address on the address bar of your web browser to open the router admin page.
  • Next, you will get a prompt to enter the login credentials to get into the router admin page. In order to find the default username and password, go to the first point and follow those steps.
  • Now, when you get the access to the router admin page, then go to the WiFi settings option. Within that option, you can choose either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz channel. If the router device works with both channels then you can separately select a channel that works fine.
