Here’s what you need to do in order to get rid of the Echo Dot yellow ring flashing issue.

  1. Check Network Connection

A weak, unstable or fluctuating network connection can be one of the main reasons behind the error with yellow light. To deal with any network-related errors, you must follow these instructions: 

  • Make sure that you have placed the Echo Dot device within 8 feet of your router device. If the Echo device is in the dead zone of the house, place it closer to the router.
  • Moreover, check the strength of internet speed. The internet speed should be more than the minimum speed requirement for Echo Dot devices. 

        2.Restart the Network

Sometimes, it might happen that one of the devices connected to the network is seriously overloaded. As a result, it is unable to deliver the expected performance. In such a situation, you have to disconnect and shut down all the devices that are connected to the network. 

It is always a good idea to rest the hardware. You have to turn off all the devices and then restart the Echo Dot, the router and the modem devices. This will possibly help you to get rid of the pulsating yellow ring. 

         3.Update the Alexa App

One of the best ways to deal with this issue is to make sure that you are using an updated version of the Alexa app. An updated app will enable the connected Echo Dot devices to function properly. Here’s what you have to do: 

  • At first, launch the Alexa app on your computer device or smartphone.
  • Now, click on the ‘Menu’ option and then choose the ‘Settings’ option. After this, tap on the ‘About’ option and then go through the details of the software. 
  • If an updated version of the app is available then you will get to see the ‘Update’ option. Click on this option to automatically download and install the fresh version. 

          4.Reset the Echo Dot Device

In case, none of the above solutions work for you and then your last resort is to reset the Echo Dot device. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Press the Volume down button and the Microphone Off button together and hold it for some time. Hold these buttons together until and less an orange ring appears on the device. 
  • After this, the orange ring will turn blue slowly, signifying that the reset process has begun.
  • When the reset process is complete, the blue ring will disappear. Now, wait for some time, until you see the ring light turning orange. This will indicate that the Echo Dot device is in Setup mode.
  • Finally, the reset process is over. Restart the device and to note that the yellow light has stopped pulsating.
