  3. Type “%AppData%\skype” (without the quotes) in the box, and click OK.
  4. Look for a folder with the same name as your Skype username.

  4. Look for a file named shared, right-click on it and select Delete. Confirm the action in the pop-up screen that appears.
  5. Locate a folder that has the same title as your Skype username. Double-click to open it.
  6. Now, search for a file named config, right-click on it and select Delete from the menu. Confirm your action in the pop-up box.
  7. Again open Run box by pressing Windows key + R from your keyboard.
  8. Type “% AppData%” (without the quotes) and click OK.
  9. Locate the folder named Skype, right-click on it and select Rename. Now, rename the folder to Skype_old. This step ensures that when you reinstall Skype, none of your former settings on it will be counted. Moreover, the old files and folders will be saved and if required may be used later.
  10. Now, go to Start menu > add or remove programs, locate Skype, right-click on it and select Uninstall. The uninstallation wizard will open and you need to follow the instructions therein to uninstall Skype from your computer.
