Way 5: Reduce the Distance between your Device and Modem

Way 6: Update the WiFi Network Information

  3. Look for the Echo device for which you want to change the WiFi information.

Way 7: Re-register your Echo Device

When you place the order for your Echo device, it is automatically registered to your Amazon account. If the device name does not appear in the Alexa app, then you can deregister and reregister the device. 

To do so, you need to follow the complete process on your computer, laptop, or smartphone. 

  1. Launch a web browser and visit the official website of Amazon. 
  2. Enter the username and password for logging into your account. 
  3. Select your Amazon account and click on the Content and Devices link. 
  4. Move to the Manage Your Content and Devices menu bar and select Devices. 
  5. Look for your Echo device in the list available and click the three dots next to it. 
  6. Select the Deregister option and click ‘OK’ to confirm the deregistration process. 
  7. Now, the Echo device is no longer available in your Amazon account. 
  8. Next, unplug the Echo device from the power outlet and connect it back after a few minutes. 
  9. Access the Alexa app on your phone and tap the Device icon. 
  10. After that, tap the Plus icon and select Add Device below.
