Update BIOS

First, tap the Start button from and open the Start menu. From the left side of the Start menu, select Settings. Then, go to section “Update & Security”. Here, you need to select “Recovery” from the left menu and click on “Restart Now” under the “Advanced Startup”. Select “Troubleshoot” to open the the tooland select Advanced options. Under it, you need to choose UEFI Firmware Settings. Finally, complete the BIOS setup process and reboot your system. Now, check whether you are facing the sleep mode issues or not.

Run In-Built Utilities

Open the Control Panel window and go to the Troubleshooting section by tapping the Troubleshoot tab. Now, select ‘View-all’ to access a list of multiple troubleshooters installed in your device.

Here, choose the utilities named Power and System Maintenance from that list and run them individually to activate the  Windows sleep mode.

Reboot System In Safe Mode

Restart your system first and press “F8” from the keyboard immediately after appearing the manufacturer’s logo on the screen. You will get a black screen window with different options. Perform Clean Boot

Tap on the “General” tab and select “Selective startup”. It will show the entire setup and remove the tick from the Load Startup items check box. After that, you tap on the “Services” tab and click on the checkbox “Hide all Microsoft Services” from the bottom of the page. Then, remove the apps by clicking on “Disable All” and open Task Manager using “Startup” tab.

In this Task manager window, you can see the list of enabled programs. Finally, right-click on them one by one and select the option “Disable”. Then, click on “OK” to confirm the clean boot process. Restart your PC and check whether the sleep mode is working or not.

Upgrade Device Driver

Open Run and type in “devicemngr” in the available field. After that, press Enter key from the keyboard to open the “Device Manager”. Here, you will see the installed hardware devices in different categories. You have to expand one by one which you want to update. Right-click on the devices and Select the option “Update Driver” to start the upgrade process. Then, click on the option “ Search automatically for updated driver software” option.

Once you complete the above steps, your devices will be updated if the new or the latest updates are available.

Adjust Advanced Settings

Open the Control Panel and choose “Power” options and click on “Choose when to turn off the display”. Then, click on “Next”, and “Change advanced power settings” to modify the settings.

From the bottom of the window, tap on “Sleep” and expand it. Now, adjust it as per your requirements. Here, you can fix a certain time to go to the sleep mode. Finally, click on “Apply” to save the changes. Then, close the window to finish the process.
